2021.09.16 23:58 MGeri2525 Why do some people hate Kanye West, but still listen to his music?
I talked to a girl who said she hates Kanye as a person but loves his music. I thought about this and I don’t think I ever will be able to separate art and artist on that level. What I don’t really understand is how you can hate (such a strong word) Kanye if you listen to his music. Kanye is such an interesting person and he has said his fair share of controversial comments and tweets. I don’t think Kanye is a bad person, some people just think that because every aspect of his life is in the media, including his flaws. I don’t know how you can listen to Kanye’s lyrics or interviews and hate him. Thoughts?

Diff shit than the last cpl months so did a tiny test cook to see how she rocks up as that's the best way to test quality without a kit imo (ntm some kits are trash n inaccurate af n won't tell u if there's a bunk cut that won't cook proper either)

2021.09.16 23:58 Krispygelato Making the most out of those annoying spam calls
Whenever I get a spam call I flip the script and tell them all about GME and superstonk. Most of the time they just hang up but sometimes they will actually follow along and will look into this subreddit while I'm on the phone with them.
It's probably pointless but it's an attempt to get the word out to people in countries that may not know. It's also satisfying turning their spam call into your own.

2021.09.16 23:58 Buckar0o Experience with Lino, Mirra 2, Aeron, and Embody (UK)
Like many recently, I felt I should get a good chair for working from home. I couldn't actually try any of the chairs I was interested in prior to purchase due to lockdowns and where I live but wanted a decent chair that I could sit in for extended periods and had heard and read good things about Herman Miller chairs.
I like to sit up straight for computer work and lean back when gaming etc. I'm a 6'1" (185 cm) guy weighing around 14 stone (196 pounds) and have quite wide shoulders and thighs.
I first purchased a Herman Miller Mirra 2 from Designedfor in the UK. The build quality was fantastic and I really loved the design. The upholstered triflex back was also comfy and didn't feel hard at all.
Unfortunately, the seat was just too narrow. The plastic rim dug into my thighs and the whole thing felt very cramped; this is not a chair for a guy of my size is seems. I returned the chair and they were great about it (although it came on a pallet which they would not take back).
Next, I bought a Herman Miller Lino from Wellworking. To be honest, for the price, it was very poor. At £560 it is not a cheap chair (maybe by fancy ergonomic chair standards it is!) but it felt like any other basic computer chair. The seat quickly bottomed out, the seat depth adjustment mechanism and arms were rattly/loose and the forward tilt actually stopped working after 3 days. I quickly returned it - Wellworking offer free returns plus they use their own courier.
At this point, I caved and just splurged on a fully loaded Aeron Remastered (size C). It was from Wellworking again and when their guy delivered it, he gave me loads of tips on how to use it properly and also gave me advice about desk setup. He was very enthusiastic and stayed for almost half an hour.
I really loved the build quality, forward tilt, upright position, backrest, and reclining of the Aeron. The two things that didn't work for me were the posture fit sl and, to a lesser extent, the mesh seat. The plastic pads of the lumbar support poked into my back in the wrong place and I found the mesh seat uncomfortable after a couple of hours due to it's overall firmness and the way it caves. These two problems could suggest that it was the wrong size for me but I didn't want to risk the smaller chair after my experience with the Mirra 2.
After using the Aeron almost two weeks, I started to think that maybe my expectations were just too high. I had the idea that if I'm spending 1k+ on a chair, it better be perfect. Obviously, it wasn't perfect and I ended up returning yet another one.
A timely 15% promotion on the Herman Miller official site resulted in me getting the Logitech Embody. After having the Aeron, this felt like a downgrade in terms of build quality. The arm rest adjustment is very clunky and the arms were actually quite wobbly. Not really a deal breaker in isolation...
The noisiness of this chair is well documented but my particular unit was extremely loud at the front where the seat depth adjustment is. Any slight movement made the seat creak like mad but suprisingly, the noise from the flexible back didn't bother me at all. I actually found it quite satisfying - like a rubbery crunch that added to the tactile feel of the flexible back.
The seat on the Embody is wide and very comfortable - by far my favourite seat of the bunch. Although I could feel the little bits under the seat sometimes, it wasn't much of a bother. It's quite flat and plenty big enough to accommodate different poses with legs up etc.
The back rest is what ruined it for me; the hard plastic prongs around the lower back area dug in painfully and the most upright position I could find meant my shoulders felt squished and my back curved inwards. I just couldn't find decent, upright working position with the single-knob back adjustment. I read a fair amount of people saying that the Embody is better for upright working than the Aeron but I found the opposite true. Perhaps they were referring to the non-gaming version but I could only fit comfortably into the Embody when slightly reclined or slouched.
I did contact Herman Miller about the insanely loud seat creaking and sent them a video on their request. They replied saying that it was normal and not grounds for an inpection/repair or an exchange. Perhaps my video didn't convey the noise well enough to them because I can't believe it normal for a chair of this price and apparant quality to be so noisy. Luckily I was still in the 14-day return window and arranged a collection with them.
Also worth noting is that Herman Miller included an information sheet in their email on how to apply a food-grade silicon lubricant into the seat depth adjustment mechanism so clearly this is a known issue. After my experience with the broken Lino, the dissapointing build quality of the Logitech Emobdy, and the emails from Herman Miller, I started to question my idea that their chairs were worth the high price and that the after sale service would contribute to that fact.
The Aeron was probably my favourite of the three because of the build and the working position. I've found that being able to adjust the chair to your body and preferred position is of upmost importance. Obviously, getting up and moving frequently is the best tactic healthwise but as I'm sure many of know, that's not always possible or desirable if you have back to back meetings or just want to get lost in a task for a good stretch.
So now, I am waiting on an RH New Logic 220...It's the most pricey out of all of them but also the most adjustable. I'll update after a while it's helpful to anyone. This is a pretty long post but I thought I'd share my personal experience with a few popular chairs as I feel a bit bad buying and returning so many. I Also want to praise Wellworking - I bought and returned two chairs from them and everything was super quick and easy.

2021.09.16 23:58 mozziemofo Scout rifles: Sweet spot or no sweet spot?
I'm trying to figure out a good scout rifle to use in most scenarios, and I'm torn between using a sweet spot rifle or the Gewehr M.95. I have heard the M.95 is amazing, and I like how you don't have to manually rack the bolt after firing and how you don't have to worry about sweet spot distance. Yet I also hear word that guns like the Martini Henry, SMLE Mk III, and Russian 1895 are also incredible. Should I go with a sweet spot weapon or one that doesn't have one? Thanks.
