2021.09.17 00:28 StuckInARut360 Resume check for entry level jobs in finance
2021.09.17 00:28 kdalips My detailed perspective - BRRF 2021 wasn't too bad
Back in March, I bought my 3-day tickets (Fri-Sun) for entry to the event and for parking. We had planned our own camping situation (not through BRRF) off-site about a 10 minute drive from the shuttle parking location. From what I've heard of others, this seems to have been the absolute best option for where to stay during the weekend.
We were disappointed that the daily lineup and schedule wasn't announced earlier- it was announced only about two weeks before the event took place. Breaking Benjamin is our favorite band, so we were upset when we learned they would only be performing Thursday and that our 3-day tickets didn't include them.
I can't comment much on Thursday aside from what I heard from others. That is- that the logistics of directing attendees and their vehicles was basically non-existent Thursday. Each of the three days I attended, the parking and shuttle situation got better. There were two or three off-site parking lots for the event (my location was the northern-most "blue" lot). On the way in to the event each morning, we would park at the blue lot, the shuttle picked us up, and they dropped us off almost directly outside the entry gates. At the end of each of the days however, we were required to walk 1.2 miles down the road to get to the shuttle pickup location. This wasn't too big of a deal for us. The only issue with the shuttle was that, on the first day, we had to ask a dozen people where the shuttle would pick us up- because there was no signage as to where this location would be.
Each day, both in the morning and at night, once we arrived at the shuttle pick-up location, we never had to wait for more than 10 minutes for a shuttle to arrive to pick us up.
The only issue I had with parking was that BRRF's website posted parking instructions very late- I think they posted it online on the same week of the event. They should have posted the parking instructions at least a month in advance.
As we quickly learned, most of the "rules" were not enforced. For example, no one ever asked us to verify that we had paid for parking, and they also didn't check our bags upon entry. I expect anyone could have got in to the event grounds even if they hadn't bought tickets- especially if they wore long sleeves upon entry to cover up where the wrist band would have been.
The only form of security we experienced was that we were required to walk through a metal detector upon entry, and we saw a few officers walking around the event grounds. Glad that there wasn't a shooter. If there had been one, they probably could have done so for several minutes before officers would have been able to respond.
The "golden-circle" viewing areas directly in front of the two main stages were intended to be reserved for those who paid the higher price to enter into that area, but again, no one was there to check if people had the special golden circle wristband. So those who paid only for general admission tickets could go in to the golden circle area without question.
The on-site food trucks provided numerous options, and although the lines were long, we didn't really mind waiting. All things considered, I think there were enough vendors to support the crowd. The size/portions of every meal we ordered were on the small side, and at most of the vendors, you could expect to pay $15 per entree. The food itself was good, and there were plenty of options to choose from, but it was all very overpriced. After the first day, we brought additional snacks in with us.
The only way to find out where anything was located was to walk around the grounds and see for yourself- there was no map. There were a few large white balloons spaced around to point out important things: "food court", "bar," "vip," and "clinic" were a few of them. These balloons should have been larger, or more eye-catching. There weren't any signs pointing out the water refill stations, and there also weren't any signs pointing you to where the various stages were located.
There also was no information available on site showing each stage's band lineup/schedule. Considering that cell service was pretty much non-existent, it was good that we had printed out the hourly schedule ahead of time before we arrived. It would have been nice if each stage displayed the day's lineup- similar to what was available on the website.
There were plenty of port-o-potties; we never needed to wait. Of course, they weren't particularly clean. The hand washing areas were frequently out of water, but hand-sanitizer was available.
In my experience, the worst thing to deal with during the weekend was all the dust that was kicked up as the thousands of people walked around. We decided to wear masks almost the entire time: not-so-much due to Covid, but because we didn't want to breath in all that dust. At times, it seemed like a legitimate cloud.
On the positive side, all of the bands we listened to rocked! The lineup was definitely the selling-point of the event, and BRRF delivered on that front. All the bands we watched began exactly at their scheduled start-time. Even still, we wish we knew Breaking Benjamin was going to perform Thursday. If we had known, we would have bought the 4-day tickets instead.
I would consider going to BRRF again, but not next year. I'll wait to see reviews of next year first, before deciding whether or not to attend again. TL;DR My overall experience: 7/10
Band Lineup: 9/10 Camping (off-site): 10/10 Parking and shuttle: 8/10 Security: 1/10 On-site food-trucks: 7/10 Signage and event layout: 6/10

I recently rebought the game on PS4 after a couple years away and cannot get in on a heist. I get kicked every time. I’m assuming it’s because of being low level. Any advice besides spend a bunch of time doing low earning stuff to level up?

2021.09.17 00:28 piscesgirl202 Separation is nothing but an illusion
I know this is something that is often preached but I just now fully understood it’s meaning. No matter how far we’re apart from the person we are longing for, they never really are far. We might not know what they are up to in this very moment but their soul will always be with us. This life doesn’t really matter when we’re looking at eternity, does it? Being a human means messing up big time, making mistake after mistake and hurting the people we love. But all in all, we are longing for more, for something else. I believe this is were our soul (and our twin) comes in. We might not even know them but we know they exist within us. And what is within us is also out there. But we can only find things within us. Don’t cry after your twin, embrace separation, live life and evolve. Don’t chase them, just let things come naturally, you are complete just the way you are. You’ll see him again, maybe not on this plane but why does this matter? You have a life to live and dwelling on the past and things that could have happened or could play out does not help. Things will fall into place, have faith. You’re here for a reason and to learn. Life on earth will never be perfect, it’s not meant to be. It’s meant to be painful at times and happy at others and nothing comes without a price. Abundance can be felt through meditation and communication with the astral, not only when being with your twin. Just live your life, he’s meant to have a place in there somehow but the important things is that it is YOUR life and you need to accept your lessons - he is part of your lesson but being with him is not. We can’t force things. Love and light ✨💕

2021.09.17 00:28 cavoac The Kids buying cars
I saw an interview with Bruce where he said they hadn't been paid all that much, and then in the 2nd season, things were going well, so Lorne gave everyone some money and said "buy yourselves cars". And everyone used the money for something else except Kevin, who bought a car because he thought he was supposed to. And he didn't drive.
That's such an indication of a childhood where you do what you're told Or Else.

2021.09.17 00:28 yarb3d Q: Creek crossings on Grand Canyon of the Tuolomne hike?
I'll be hiking the following route starting Sun 9/19: Murphy Creek TH -> Grand Canyon of the Tuolomne -> Pate Valley -> back to Murphy Creek TH.[*] On the map, the trail seems to involve creek crossings of Murphy Creek, Cathedral Creek, and Register Creek, but I've heard that water levels are pretty low right now. My question: is it possible to rock-hop across these creeks, or do I need to bring water shoes?
I'm already carrying a bear canister and bear spray, plus warm clothes for some cold nights coming up, so I'd just as soon not carry the additional weight of water shoes unless that's really necessary.
[*] We had originally planned to do the loop starting at White Wolf, but the Lukens fire trail closure put the kibosh on that.

Hello! I am a graduate student studying Anthrozoology at Canisius College in Buffalo, NY. I am in the process of conducting a research study for my thesis project and am seeking participants to complete the survey linked below. I am investigating the expectations versus reality of dog ownership. This will help to contribute to the knowledge we have regarding our furry companions. The survey is open to dog owners age 18 and over who live in the United States. Participation is completely voluntary and anonymous. The survey should take approximately 10 minutes to complete. Thank you very much for your time!

2021.09.17 00:28 Proper_Economy_640 I keep crying about the death of a child who died many years ago...
It happened nearly a decade ago. This person was a 17 year old boy. I read about it online from someone else and ever since I have days where I keep thinking about that poor boy who died.
He was invited out to dinner with a group of friends. On the way back, when he was in the backseat of the car with his friends, they turned on him and the friend in the backseat strangled him to death. Then they abandoned the car and left him to be found, still in the backseat.
This happened in a gloomy seaside town, and I'm guessing the kid was also poor because someone said he was in Job Corps. Some members at the Job Corps he went to said they saw his ghost roaming around shortly after his death..
The 3 friends he was with had to be dropped as suspects and weren't convicted due to insufficient evidence, so the case remains officially unsolved.
I can't stop thinking about what that poor boy went through. I feel so sad for him. I'm on the fence about believing in ghosts but that'd make things worse if they're real because I imagine him just sitting there crying not being able to interact with anyone after all he'd been through.. like jfc all he wanted to do was go out to dinner with his friends..
I find all death tragic but this one hits me real hard. He had a girlfriend also. As if his death were not cruel enough, his murderers ended up getting off scots free, and his death only made it into the community section of the local newspaper. It didn't even make the online version and only a few people remember his death..I'm talking maybe five or six people.
What gets me is the thing about the ghost. Kind of a 'what if..?'' sort of thing. I imagine him waking up as a ghost, wondering why he was killed.. then roaming around the place he studied/worked, but not being able to interact with anyone to seek any comfort, after all that happened to him. People stopped seeing his ghost eventually, which makes me wonder if his ghost just...died? Like it died of sadness or something. And he was roaming around for years like that, not being able to interact with anyone, the thoughts of his own death tormenting him..
If I could go back in time to save one person it'd definitely be this kid. There's just something about this one that makes me feel so heartbroken. For some reason a lot of people are cold/unfeeling about this boy's death, I can't explain it but it reminds me of how the parents acted about children's deaths in Stephen King's IT..it's as if the universe had it in for this poor boy.

2021.09.17 00:28 Lakelimbo BoTW shader problem after drive update
| I don't know if this was reported here already but two days ago Windows updated some AMD GPU drivers, and then today I open Breath of the Wild and get this. I don't know exactly what's happening, because other GPU updates didn't caused me any trouble. I tried to delete the shader cache, disable reshade, even remove Cemuhook, but no luck. Is there any solution (aside from reverting the GPU updates)? |
CPU: Ryzen 5 2600 GPU: AMD Radeon RX 580 OS: Windows 10 Home (latest update) Cemu version: 1.25.3c (also tried on 1.25.2 but the problem persists)
